City College of New York Selected for the US DOE Solar Decathlon

” ‘The Solar Decathlon is a great project to educate and train the next generation of professionals in the emerging and needed fields of sustainable buildings and renewable energy,’ said Dr. Jorge Gonzalez, a mechanical engineering professor at The City College of New York, who is advising his school’s team.
CCNY’s entry, called a Solar Roof Pod, is designed to take advantage of often underutilized rooftops in big cities, which can provide access to solar energy, wind, water and roof-top greenery…”
