AIA Staten Island

2-17-11

The monthly AIA meeting in Staten Island invited Solar Decathlon Team New York to present their prototype pod to a group of over 40 architects, all of whom were particularly interested in a student-driven project. After seeing the design parameters and  construction drawings, they were impressed by the extent to which students were allowed to participate in the construction. They especially appreciated the collaboration and interaction of architecture and engineering students, which is often rare in University education. Many City College of New York alumni were present in the audience, and immediately proposed their support for the students.
